In the middle of October the Eatit founders Theresia Silander Hagström and Oytun Yildirimdemir will move to Silicon Valley for four weeks to participate in the TINC Accelerator. - We applied to the program since they have some of the best business coaches in Silicon Valley engaged. Already during the kick-off we could leverage the company due to their feedback, says Theresia. After applying to the program Eatit had several interviews before receiving the final decision. Vinnova is giving Eatit a grant to subsidize the fee for the program and Eatit are renting a house with some other entrepreneurs to decrease the cost. - We are really happy to be one of the chosen companies and for receiving the Vinnova grant. During the program our goal is to increase the number of test users, learn from other companies in the Valley and get closer to launching, says Oytun. The rest of the team will remain in Sweden and continue working with developing the digital dietitian. After the program is done Theresia and Oytun will go back to Sweden. -We´re going back home, at least for a while. Since we are building a scalable product for the global market we will absolutely come back even after the program is done, says Oytun. There is a lot happening in the field of health tech and food tech at the moment. Sweden is a great market for that with a lot of interesting companies to cooperate with, but we are really interested to see which eco system California can offer us to top in to, says Theresia. The accelerator is called TINC, which stands for Tech INCubator, and is a cooperation between Norway, Sweden, Finland and Island. During the program the companies will have a base at the Nordic Innovation House in Palo Alto and a lot of the workshops will take place at Stanford.
